Wednesday nights are date nights. While I'm looking up what to do next week, and updating my spreadsheet for the sitters hours...I'll stop and document what we've done. Later I may or may not add the details.
But seriously. it's a ton of work to come up with things. We are SO old.
DATE ONE ~ WED 28-May-08
Dinner at the Summer Shack & then the Boston Pops Concert "EDGEfest" with Natalie Merchant
Date Rating: Overall B+
Dinner: B. Adequate food, service was good. Slightly overpriced but in keeping with the rent. Would not eat there again unless meeting for drinks.
Activity: B. Natalie's voice was stunning, gorgeous, amazing. Her material, as Doug puts it, is "Wildly Self Indulgent" and she danced the dance of the Dying Swan to our great amusement. She announced immediately that she would be performing very few of her earlier works. So we were treated to her poetry, her new material, and her interpretations of moving stirring whatevers put to music.Deduction taken for the obviously "in the big city for the day" tourist family who SNACKED through the first half behind us.
Qualifying the data: How do 2 B's make a B+ you ask? We get bonus points for originality in first date choice and holding hands while walking back to the car.
DATE TWO ~ WED 4-Jun-08
Luciano's Danvers & Kitty OShea's for Guitar Hero
Date Rating: Overall B+
Dinner: A. Spectacular food. Delicious wine. Divine dessert. Ample time to linger and talk. Rated slightly less then the A+ it deserves owing to the Polish waitress's impossible accent and insistence of trilling the end of each statement.
Activity: B-. Mislead by listing online. Band was not there. Instead they had a guitar hero tournament. Which was AWESOME and now I want to play again. This activity would have gotten a B save for the drunk fashion designer with the remarkably cool boyfriend who was not only a close talker, but a toucher to boot. And a wee bit of a plosive spitter. We fled.
DATE THREE ~ FRI 13-Jun-08
BGMC ExtrABBAganza & Dinner at Ricks
Date Rating: Overall A-
Activity: Boston Gay Men's Chorus sing Abba. A. Fantastic. all of it, the voices, the passion, the speeches, the camp. We had an awesome time and even better seats
Dinner: A-. food was very good, oh my god the homemade chips. got a minus b/c we had to leave early
