So I developed a liking for Ebay. I'm starting off slowly. Bought a few things, sold a few things - you know, testing the waters.
Now I come across my FAVORITE sneaker brand. RYKA. They only make woman's shoes. I find an adorable pair of slip on open toed blue sneaker like things and BAM - I win the auction. So I set off in search of a full fledged pair of sneakers. I am successful in my quest and I win the auction for a great NEW pair of walking sneakers. These go for $80.00 in stores, I get them for $35.99 including shipping.
I'm in my yard last night and my "neighbor"/"family member" asked another neighbor to go for a walk after dinner. In my excitement I exclaim "Hey!I got new sneakers!" Now I must go backwards, I've walked with one woman several times before and with the two of them only once. They walk a bit faster than I do but I struggle and keep up. It's hard to do and embarrasing but I try my best.
So, this "family member" actually looks at me and LAUGHS out loud! She calls over to the neighbor and says "Did you hear that? She said she bought new sneakers!" and continued to laugh!
I ask for an explanation to the humor and she replies that she assumed I didn't want to walk as I am slower than them. I say "I don't hear you offering to slow down every now and then to help me out."
They left without me.
I hope she gets fat!

The thing is to find people who value and care about you - for you. You are looking at dregs and saying "of these dregs, which can I make something out of" I know this "neighbor/family member" and I'm not impressed with her. I agree with Chrissy. For your birthday this year, treat yourself to an ipod shuffle and pick out 20 of your favorite songs. Then go in your basement, or wherever, and dance like a mofo :o) Boogie your butt off and swing your arms. Or find a little track at your local highschool and take YOURSELF for a walk. I know it's hard to do alone, but chances are, you'll meet someone ELSE. If you are busy spending time with the idiot, you won't be free to meet people who are better FOR and TO you.
