I've decided that I need to keep in touch better. So - offline from Fidelity - I am going to fill my vanity with a nice, neat little blog/website that allows me to communicate with friends. Since I owe 97 people an email, as a birthday "goal" I've decided to reach out and connect more. Thus this email. I know, the idea of a website is a bit Christmas Letter-ey, being so generic. And it sounds vain - let's devote a site to myself. But it won't be. See, here's what I'm thinking: the next email to follow this one will be a little boring missive similar to what missives will be posted. Read it and decide if you want a boring missive of your own. Then I'll build a little online chat forum and we'll each be friends via email.
I selected a nice group of woman, all whom I think would get along, to share this little site (under construction - at home! - to follow in the weeks ahead). I think many of you have met but might enjoy knowing that there are others out there that share your thoughts, struggles, and would rejoice in your joys. I've got some Mom's with toddlers, some Mom's without, some working girls (no, not THAT kind) and some stay at homes. I've got marrieds, unmarrieds, some second careers, and lots of relatives (so each will know who the other is). It's going to be limited to just us, at first, to build a trust, then, if we all play nicely, we can each add other friends one at a time. Then we'll be a nice network that supports each other. We can root on Pam with her surgeries (no more, we hope) and Heather with her two dog, two kids, two car, and only two hands life, Michelle with her daily chaos as a hockey mom and supermom, Kim as she enjoys her second chance dream career as a teacher, etc. etc.
For ME at least, I think that keeping in touch via web postings will, at a minimum, make it easier when we all do connect b/c we are already caught up.
Ah, vanity - thy name is Deb.
Let me know what you think. You won't have to post either, you can just read if you like!

Hello! I like this idea. However, being a "computer illiterate" I am not sure what I have to do to join. I love to get e-mail and keep up with my friends and family's comings and oings. It is a source of great pleasure to me up in little ole New Hampshire cut off from the so called 'real' world like I am.
Love, Pam (posted by debbiblue on her behalf)
