6.29 More Red Sux

in keeping with the Red Sux theme I offer a more satisfying story...It's the week before the 4th anniversary of my 35th birthday and my ISO (In-significant other) and I receive an invitation to ISO's SIL's (sister in law) birthday party. The party is slated for 6/10 - my anniversary date. I ask ISO if we will be attending the festivities. ISO (watch for changes from ISO to ASO). After some time ISO admits he has tickets to the Red Sox game for that evening and might not go to the party. And oh, by the way -it's your birthday too.Several days pass as ISO says "You don't want to go to the games for your Bday do you?" to which I reply "Not particularly." Subject dropped. Another 2 days pass. SIL informs me that ISO now ASO is not going to her party, he's going to a Red Sox came w/ a friend! Silly me ASSUMED my response meant no we weren't going and not no I don't want to go, ask someone else. The day of the big game comes and I hear that the busload of game-goers are meeting at 3:00 and going to lunch first. As I was out at 3:00 ASO failed to make arrangements for child care and missed the bus. Did I mention IT IS POURING!!! Turns out the game gets cancelled and ASO decides now he want to go to the party with me. NOT. I left him home w/ the child and set off to the party & another one I wanted to go to. The following day is BEAUTIFUL as far as the weather goes. Waltham High is graduating under the hot sun and soft breeze, a party is being held for my niece in honor of her graduation and I am flitting about meeting all my family obligations - ASO is home.As I get in my car I hear on the radio that the Sox are playing: "But, with two outs, two runners on and the Red Sox down by two runs in the ninth inning, Ortiz found himself in a familiar spot -- facing an opposing pitcher with the game hanging in the balance. Ortiz turned Akinori Otsuka's 2-and-2 two-seamer around, depositing it into the right-field bleachers, delivering a 5-4 walk-off victory for the Sox".Awesome ending the crowd goes wild and then I discover the sweetest part of the victory - It was the make up game from teh night before and ASO missed it!Never mess with MAMA CHELLE on her Birthday!
