The weather is perfect right now. It's bright & sunny, it's summer and it's Friday!
I check the messages - "Hi Phil, it's "X". I just got out of school and got a message from my father. His uncle passed away in New York. It's his last living uncle so the family is driving to New York tomorrow and I have to go. We're all going to see his wife and see what we can do to help out. I just got the message now. We're all going to spend the night down there and return Saturday. I'll call Michelle now so she knows too. Sorry for the short notice, my Dad left me the message while I was at school. Have a great weekend and I'll see you Monday"
History: Out one day to go to the beach, told me in advance, called Phil and left a message about taking her Mom to doctor's appts.
I beg and plead - give me your feedback on her message. I will not bias anyones opinion with my own until the end. But think hard about her words and; situation.

there are so many other ways to lie, why would you tempt fate like that? And why so much detail? It just seems horrible to make up a death. Plus that's a darn big lie to remember. You have to come back grieving, others are extending sympathy (so you are STEALING their heartfelt feelings), you have to now make-up a funeral, an aunt, many many things. I mean, whatever happened to "female trouble" - that gets ya out of just about anything. And what about when you come back tanned??? was it SUNNY in the funeral parlor??? Plus, if you are going down Friday to "help out" you probably aren't going to be in Monday or Tuesday, I mean, I ASSUME if you are down there you are staying for the wake and funeral??? PLEASE people, at least invent an asmtha attack or food poisoning.
