Hot. As in Africa Hot.

I had forgotten how stale the air is on a hot day. I forget that here in New England spring lasts about 2 weeks and it's raining before and after then one day...it's fucking hot. And not in a mellow "oh lordee isn't it warm" but a back sweating, bitchy, humid hot. Too hot to eat, too hot to cook, too hot to be civil. Hot.

Hot enough that the DPW guys are yelling "Hot enough for ya" out the window.
Hot enough that the fleshy flab of winter can no longer be hidden.
Hot enough that on this first day of hot we are looking at one another thinking "I can't stand a summer of this".

So hot that the bottled water I drank today at a friends house leaves me rife with guilt as I likely contributed to global warming.
HOT.

It's SO fucking hot out.
