My Friends are Funny subtitled How I Lightened Up Today after Reading my Inbox

An email from Lucy:
Ryan came home from work the other night, took Liam upstairs to play "monster" on the bed and play as they always do when he first gets home. Later that night after Liam had gone to bed:

Lucy: "So, we went to the Community Center play group today...and, ironically, it took moving to MARBLEHEAD for Liam to have his first extended play session with an African American child. He spent the whole time with a great little boy he met named Thomas. They were really fast friends."
Ryan: Smiling.......pause.
Lucy: "What?"
Ryan: "I heard about him, actually. Lucy told me he met a new friend today at the playgroup...but all he said about him was that his new friend had REALLY curly hair."

A passage from April's blog:
add to my failing immune system, the fact that there's a lovely 'wintry' mix outside right now. to all of you not fortunate enough to live in the northeast, a 'wintry' mix is not a cool mix cd made for you by an old boyfriend. it's an irritating mix of ice, snow, and rain combined with bitter cold and bad attitude.

A comment from prayingtodarwin:
Another mom I know expressed it as such, "Men get to believe in Santa right into adulthood. Because they wake up on Dec 25, and Christmas JUST FUCKING HAPPENED!"

and finally, a post from my sisters occasional blog:

Pink Ribbons

I remember sitting at my baby shower 31 days before delivering Julia. I was unwrapping a present and broke the ribbon. "Oops!" I exclaimed. "I need to be more careful. I don't want to end up married!"

Andy's family did not find that funny.
me - I still crack up when I think about it.
