They're Magically Delicious

"What do you want for breakfast?"
YOGURT. Top of her lungs.
Banilla yogurt gets spooned in.
When I finish this can i have more?
"Absolutely!"

She finishes it.
Has more.

CAN I HAVE BLUEBERRIES???
"Absolutely! But only a few, the rest are for school."
I DON'T WANT TO GO TO SCHOOL.

And as if I planned i, I lied. Rolled RIGHT off my tongue.
"oh sweetie, I know. But the TV man is coming today. The TV is broken and if we stay home, we can't watch tv all day. And we can't go out or to the park because Mommy has to wait for him.

They both look at me.
Doug: What's wrong with the tv?
Ellie: WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE TV???
"Oh we're not getting all the channels we should. Mommy called and askedthem to give us more Olivia."

And nothing more was said.
So we are off to school today after all.

CAN I HAVE MORE TO EAT?
"Absolutely" (my word of the day) "What do you want? Do you want cereal?"
YES! PUFFINS or CHEERIOS?
"um" and I had the puffins open nearby "Puffins?'
But it was too late.
She spied the box of Daddy's secret cereal.

I WANT REAL CEREAL!
"You dooooo?
YES! I DO!

So I sighed.
Resigned.
Because I know what Lucky Charms means.
Sorting the wheat from the chafe.
The good from the bad.
Segregation.
The separation of sugar from grain.
But she's a good little girl, and I woke up at 3:18 and knew I was a bit barky, so a reward was in order.

And with a huge smile:
"Sure honey" wait for it "Absolutely."

So I wiped dry the blueberry bowl, and got a second dry one for next to it.
And poured.

She looked up at me, as sweet as pie.

CAN YOU PICK THOSE OUT PLEASE

And she pointed to the offenders.

Every last marshmallow one of them.

Holy cr*p. She picks OUT the marshmallows? I can't even think about giving Will stuff like that because he will only eat the solidified, technicolor sugar and leave anything vaguely nutritious in the bowl. Ellie = freakishly delightful. Wanna trade?

Please. You should have seen the look on my face when she spit out all the cookie dough from the chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. "I don't like the seeds in this" she said. Doug was practically on the floor dying, I was so shocked and aggrieved.

yep. She thinks marshmallows are "yucky". Cake and cupcakes too, although she loves ... and I mean LOVES frosting. Sigh, Mommy's little mini me.

I love it. And your tablecloth! Where ever did you get it, and can I get one just like it?
